1865: This was better the way Mom described it.

Let me first say, how awesome is it that MY MOM* of all people would know enough about Metallica being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to be able to describe their performance for me when my DVR chose to lop off the majority of the time allotted for their induction?

I was annoyed, of course, to come home and find that despite my best efforts to record the ceremony, I'd have to resort to looking for it online. But I am even more annoyed by what the internet was able to provide -- not because people failed to post it for those of us unable to see the ceremony on TV, but because the performance is a bit of a let-down.

Metallica fans, don't watch the video above -- just let my mom call you about it instead. She made it out to be the most incredible thing ever. Wish it had been!

* My sweet, little mom!
