1660: "I mean, it's brilliant."
I really have no idea how it came up tonight, but it did. And frankly, it's not the first time.
I'm talking about On The Right Track -- a film in which Gary Coleman, being some kind of jolly little orphan, lives in a train station locker, shines shoes, and predicts the outcomes of races for gamblers. Or something. I don't know because I've never seen it, which is really sort of amazing when you consider the majesty of this image..

I prefer orphan-themed movies in which abandoned children are saved by kind-hearted animals from the sort of random tragedy that always befalls scrappy kids in movies. I was a big fan of The Rescuers -- but maybe that's also because I'm a big fan of anything Gabor-related. ("I get allergic smelling hay!") I now recall owning (and enjoying) The Rescuers Down Under... on cassette tape. ON CASSETTE TAPE! Such is the strength of my love of animals having adventures! I don't need pictures, or an original storyline. Just give me an audio book movie-tie in and I'm good to go.
Just think how different Gary Coleman's life would have been if he'd been rescued from that terrible locker by a pair of well-intentioned rodents.
