1005: "This man is some kind of rodent, I don't know which."
It was a busy and, to be honest, not entirely fruitful weekend.

We attempted to watch The Boondock Saints, and for the first time in history, we actually bailed out on a movie nowhere near its completion. While I am not normally taken to sporting events because I apparently lack the ability to appreciate non-tennis athletic events (Aili might expand on that to state that I can't appreciate anything), Pete and I are not the kind of people who leave before the end of the game to dodge traffic. We frown on those people because those people are weak and uncommitted. We are not those people. We see things through until the bitter end, and I can only imagine that The Boondock Saints has one hell of a bitter end -- we'll never know because we bailed 20 minutes in to it. That movie is CRAP. And that's the opinion of someone who has watched Gia, front-to-back, without flinching.
The Boondock Saints has a lot of interweb buzz about it, but don't believe a word. It's totally unwatchable. We skipped through to see the violent action sequences we'd been hearing about and found those to be really sad. Some movies are executed on a shoestring, without much polish, but they manage to stand out because they're crafted with care and intelligence. This movie is not one of them.
It was so bad, in fact, that it tainted our perception of virtually anything else we attempted to watch just to wash the bad-movie taste out of our mouths. Luckily, when we woke up the next morning and found Ghost Busters on our screen, The Boondock Saints were only a bad memory.
I can't believe we don't own either Ghost Busters movie. I think, given my fondness for these movies, I just assume they already have a place among our slightly obscene number of movies. The same goes for Ronin, which my brain refuses to accept as not being part of our collection. Some day, I'll get my act straight and these oversights will be remedied.
Until then, I know one thing for sure: BUSTIN' MAKES ME FEEL GOOD!
