872: What now?
Due to the incessant sounding of a car alarm, I received approximately 3 combined hours of sleep last night. Some fool parked his Nissan Maxima too far from the curb, causing the alarm to launch into its insane, screeching series of noises -- sometimes for 15 minutes at a time -- whenever another car passed. WHAT THE HELL?
For a little while, I thought maybe it was some inept would-be car thief attempting to hotwire the stupid thing and repeatedly failing, and I was praying he'd eventually figure it out and get that hunk of junk (oh, did I mention it had a spoiler and tinted windows? NICE!) out of our lives forever. When I realized what the actual cause was, and noted the miles of pavement between the car and the curb, I completely lost my mind. Thank God I keep that RPG launcher in the closet right beside the Swifter!

It occurs to me now that we should have just called the cops and had it towed for causing such a disturbance, but that would have only provided a minimal amount of satisfaction. Even if the cops came, took the car, and we were left with silence, I can't imagine anyone on the street would be able to fall peacefully back to sleep given the uncontrollable rage I'm sure we all felt. Seeing that nightmare towed away would have been OK, but watching it explode would have been really the only thing that put a smile on my face at that hour of the night.
Oh well. At least I can watch my computer explode.
