228: Who put the M in Manchester?
Thank you, Chris, for calling to my attention that BoingBoing is running ads for Morrissey's "Who put the M in Manchester?" DVD. It seems to alternate with ads for Suicide Girls, which is kind of beautiful because don't all Suicide Girls claim to be fans? This means they're cute on the inside, too!

For those interested, they're showing "Who Put the M in Manchester?" with super-special "theater-only footage" at a number of movie theaters. It goes without saying that this is happening in all of the usual cities -- NY, LA, etc. But some how, it's happening TWICE in San Diego, yet only once in New York. What the hell? Check with Pillar Entertainment and Morrissey-Solo for details and/or ranting.
Should I see the one in New York? Or, more accurately, can I subject Pete to it? He already has to cope with hearing me talk to a rabbit in funny voices.
Regardless, a DVD will be purchased. They go on sale April 4th.
And for the uninitiated... an explanation:
"On 22nd May 2004, Morrissey returned to his hometown of Manchester to play a very special comeback show. Celebrating his 45th birthday with 20,000 well-wishers from the city, which has provided years of lyrical inspiration; "Who Put The "M" In Manchester?" Morrissey of course!
"The live in concert DVD entitled "Who Put The "M" In Manchester?" will be released by Sanctuary Visual Entertainment on 4th April 2005. A live in concert CD, capturing tracks from his sold out U.K. gigs will also be released by Sanctuary Records on Attack Records on the same day. Entitled "Morrissey Live At Earl's Court" this must-have album will contain gems from "You Are The Quarry", plus additional never-before-performed B-sides, rare Morrissey classics as well as classic songs from The Smiths rarely performed by Morrissey."
