117: The biggest Nike bag in the world
Pete gave me a gift certificate for one free Nike iD product of my design and choosing. I thought about shoes, but decided against it because buying shoes without having tried them on is never a good idea. I thought about a watch, but because I have freakishly small wrists, I was afraid none of the watches would fit me. I opted to make something I probably don't need, but would enjoy anyway -- I made a bag.
It looks something like this:

The "swoosh" is in a different location, as is my personalized "10 characters or less" contribution to the design. I think they may no longer offer the bag I designed, and I'd like to think that's because they were so awestruck by the beauty of my design. I imagine it came down a conveyer belt and everyone in the factory stopped to admire it.
I love bags. I ache for bags of all shapes and sizes. Whenever I buy a bag, I think it will quench my insatiable bag-thirst. It'll satisfy me for a little while, but then I'll need a new bag fix. Did you ever wonder why this blog is called "Fakehandbags"? Well, now you know. I have real bags, fake bags, even bags designed especially for me. I know all of the best spots in Chinatown. My hunger for bags knows no end!
This bag is perfect. The only problem with it is that it's very large. I have no ability to estimate the size of anything, not even things I see right in front of me, so how can I possibly estimate the size of anything I'd like to buy online? I can't, so I shouldn't. I could live inside this bag! This works out well for me, actually. My packing skills are unparalleled in terms of my ability to pack an astounding number of outfits into a very small bag. Just think of all of the clothes I can put into this bag! And the fact that I only seem to wear black takes a finite number of clothing pieces and gives me an infinite number of clothing combinations! The clothing possibilities are endless.
I was giddy with this knowledge, and I felt compelled to indulge in the only thing I love slightly more than bags -- trying on my own clothes. I wasted an hour of my night with an impromptu fashion show for myself, exclusively. What's wrong with me? Do other people have these problems? Chris, maybe? Or am I all alone... all alone with arsenal of bags?
