109: CELEBRITY SIGHTINGS
("Food Guy" and Eric Stoltz)

This past weekend, Pete and I saw The Motorcycle Diaries. I'll admit, I was hesitant to see it because I feared it would try to tell me a story about friendship, sacrifice and becoming an adult. I don't like being taught the meaning of friendship, family or Christmas and there was potential for this movie having the intention of instructing me in at least one of these (Christmas being less of a concern). No one was made the victim of some horrific supernatural entity or even kicked in the face a few times -- these issues aside, it was a good movie. Pete was relieved that it handled the whole "Hi, this movie is about Che Guevara" thing with some amount of subtlety. For instance, he never tried on a beret or held a dying child while cursing heartless capitalist pigs. So, good job on that.

Did I forget to mention that I saw the "food guy" from Queer Eye on the street last Friday? Well, I did. What's his name? I dunno. He was walking past my hair salon as I waited for a trim. I have now seen 2/5 of the so-called "Fab Five," and both were spotted in Chelsea. I mean, DUH.

But be alarmed -- I have seen a sign of the coming Apocalypse! Standing suspiciously close to the Sanrio store (don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about) on 42nd Street, all taut-faced and grinning... Eric Stoltz.
