61: "Black on black crime" or, Office Tips #2

It's a dreary day at the office. How can we keep our spirits up until it's Quittin' Time? An office prank.

A freelance art director, for whatever reason, has a new cellphone FedExed to the office. When it arrives, we notify him to come to pick it up. Before he arrives, we remove the contents of the package, replace them with newspaper and an empty Coke can, and reseal the package.

When the art director arrives, the corporate development guy says, "Hey, here's your package." Before the package reaches the art director's hands, the corp. development guy stumbles, drops the package, and steps on the box, crushing it flat.

The art director laughs, "Oh, that's funny, now where's my real phone?"

Deadpan, the corporate development guy hands the art director the crushed box. The art director is horrified. BWHAHAHA!

Eventually we give the art director the phone, much to his relief.

And then we all laughed at the brief moment where he felt distressed and as crushed as that box. We laughed and laughed. On into the night.

Someone else's misery is our pleasure. How else can survive the workweek?

edited to add: Ugh! Everyone is telling the art director it was *my* idea, when it most certainly WAS NOT! And he BELIEVES IT!
