44: Anarchy in the City, Part III

Let's be serious for a moment. Anything stupid the Anti-Bush protesters do will be exploited by Republicans and become Bush's advantage. If you don't want Bush re-elected, your best bet is to do whatever you can to make sure Kerry is elected and not do anything outside of Madison Square Garden that would embarrass your parents.

If you are unable to control your need to get crazy, let's take it to the next level. Let's do this like it's August 8th, 1992 and we're in Montreal. We're waiting to see Metallica, but then James-ah Hetfield-ah blows up (literally) and a few hours later Axl Rose also blows up (figuratively). You are so unable to control your rage that you destroy the stadium.

Harness that thirst-for-metal and level Madison Square Garden. You'd be doing a favor to anyone who ever saw a photo of the old Penn Station and then felt annoyed it was destroyed and rebuilt as an underground Habitrail. You'd also be doing a favor to people like me, who don't really like sports anyway. In any event, if you're going to do something stupid, do it right.

Right now, the city seems safe and orderly, which I appreciate.

I've only had one annoying RNC-related experience and that was last night as I tried to walk to the station. I figured the walk would be great, considering how little traffic there was on the street. Everything was going fine until my path was broken by a fascist parade, and I was forced to change my course. Ugh.

I am also annoyed that it's a little hard to tell who's here to protest and who's here to attend that Nuremberg-style rally (minus the light show) down the street. I really need to know because I would hate to cause trouble for someone who didn't actually deserve to spend their evening getting my gum untangled from their hair.
