38: "Pirate Table of Love"

I forgot to mention that the majority of this past weekend was spent in Philadelphia, where we celebrated Pete's brother's birthday and their nieces' return to college. The grilled eggplant was most excellent.

Before we left for Philly, I had a freakout because of a mix-up at the hair salon I'd hoped to try. I managed not to pull anyone's hair or gnaw off any faces, but I was not pleased to discover that they had booked me for a 10 AM appointment when I very clearly specified an 11 AM one. I was unable to get my hair cut elsewhere because we needed to leave for Philly, so I went back to the apartment and waited for Pete.

Knowing my issue at the hair salon and appreciating my rage, Pete returned to the apartment with two black tables. We will keep one as it is, and the other we will decorate with a pirate theme. Awesome! BEST GIFT EVER!

Sunday is the Video Music Awards, which I will not watch and cannot seem to escape hearing about. I know that channel 19 is VH1 and 20 is MTV, and now that Pete has TiVo, I will never learn the location of any other stations. I think I had essentially forgotten about the Awards until last year, when Pete and I happened to walk into a mess of limos and screaming Good Charlotte fans. So aside from gracing the Awards with our presence, arguably the only other positive moment was AFI winning the MTV2 award.

Hunter: "I might have a celebratory ginger ale on the plane."

I'm not 100% sure what's happening here, except that I see four guys who could certainly appreciate a pirate table. If that doesn't cheer them up, someone give them a koala!
