28: Thank you, Chris.

Bwhahaha!
With respect to ripping-the-system, I am looking forward to the Republican convention coming to New York. Or, rather, I'm looking forward to the chaos accompanying the convention. In fact, maybe I'll join the rioters on my lunchbreak. Nothing could relieve the stress of work like flipping over a police car!
Of course, I'm doubtful they'll accomplish anything -- assuming that being destructive and totally unproductive members of society doesn't automatically exclude them from accomplishing anything meaningful in life. I was in London on May Day a few years ago, and for all their bluster, all the rioters managed to do was break windows at Niketown (was there no McDonalds available?). The police were able to put the riot down by cornering the rioters and refusing to allow them to go to the restroom. Hardcore, right? Please.
I like telling Pete this story because it never fails to get him fired up and eager to tell me about how some fool scrawled "CLONES!" on the site where an Old Navy was soon to be opened. Bravo, nerd, well played! I suppose it never occurred to the agitated hipster, on his quest to justify his irrational contempt for others and fulfill his pathetic need for attention, that he was being as close-minded as the people he very presumptuously assumed shop in a chain clothing store. Is he (and let's be realistic, it probably wasn't a girl) not contradicting himself just a bit by grouping people together based on their clothing purchases? Ha ha! Jerk.
Anyway. I am waiting to be impressed.
On second thought, I feel certain that the number of annoying people suddenly populating the city will really take away from anything they could possibly do to live up to the hype. In the same way I basically agree with animal rights people, I am also highly annoyed by their behavior and attitude. I don't think Gandhi would run around throwing paint on people, getting naked, or standing outside of Whole Foods with giant photos of mutilated cats. Is there not a more dignified way of effecting positive change? But more than that, I think it's the people themselves who annoy me. Everyone planning to come to the city to harass "big business" types and, indirectly, make the lives of the people who live and work here even more frustrating... thanks. Really. I bet your parents are fantastically proud of you. It's no lie that what I'm really looking forward to is not the chaos but the highly irritating jerks smugly thinking they're doing anything meaningful.
Feed my rage! I dare you!
